We adore our neighbouring city of Bath. It’s quaint, beautiful and bursting with history and culture. Most importantly, however, it’s full of glorious independent eateries, offering up wonderful dishes from fine dining dinner options, to hearty brunches, setting you up for the day ahead. Be it a bowl of steaming hot porridge, to a full vegan English, here are our must try brunch spots next time you find yourself in Bath.
First and foremost, head to Beyond the Kale or her sister café, Chapel Arts Café. Grab yourself a gloriously thick smoothie, a stack of pancakes and be on your merry way. Beyond the Kale get plant-based food so right, and we couldn’t recommend a visit more if we tried. Next up, The Green Rocket are also legendary on the Bath vegetarian food scene, and their breakfast menu is filled with variety.
Wild Café is a small, colourful café located behind Jolly’s department store, down a quiet yet ever so picturesque cobbled street. They offer fabulous vegan options including avocado on toast and dairy-free milks. A short walk will find you in Kingsmead Square, home to both Boston Tea Party and Kingsmead Kitchen. These two must-visits offer up drool-worthy veggie options, both for early morning breakfasts to late lazy brunching.
For the special occasions and mornings when you’re feeling extra fancy, The Royal Crescent hotel now serve a vegan full English, alongside a wonderful buffet of fresh fruit and homemade granola. The Ivy Bath Brassiere, found beside Milson’s Place, is a similarly special brunch spot with a solid couple of plant-based options to try. The dreamy interiors in the Ivy are enough reason to visit alone.
For grab and go breakfast and brunch options, we love Cascara for juice and smoothies, Society Café for sticky, sweet banana bread and Harvest health food shop for vegan pastries and muffins. Last up, Cosy Club is a breakfast option found within minutes of Bath Spa train station and are known for their vegan-friendly menu, be it for breakfast or all-day.
