Elspeth's Kitchen was started by Elspeth humm in 2015 after she has trained a chef, turned vegan and wanted to combine her 2 passions.
Elspeth trained as a professional chef and worked on super yachts for celebrities, oligarchs and sheikhs. Elspeth was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome in 2012 around the same time that her father was diagnosed with kidney disease. They were both encouraged to go on medication but decided to turn to food as medicine instead. Elspeth trained with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition as she wanted to find out more about the healing powers of diet and lifestyle, the more she learnt the more her diet changed eventually becoming vegan without realising it. Elspeth decided that it was time to drive her passion for health and vegan food...something the yachts wasn't enabling her to do.
Elspeth moved back to England and started creating cakes in her tiny home kitchen in Wiltshire. On a whim she took some cakes she had made to two local restaurants and was shocked when they both rang her up the next day telling her that they had sold out and needed more! Elspeth's Kitchen was officially born.
Elspeth travelled around the country, attending vegan events, festivals and local farmers markets every weekend, gaining a loyal following of not just vegans but also coeliacs, those looking to lead a healthier lifestyle and those avoiding certain foods. Elspeth knew she was onto something good, so it was time to plan the expansion and get these mouth watering cakes into the mouths of every vegan or those willing to try the tastiest vegan cakes in the world.
We have moved into our custom commercial kitchen, expanded our team and launched our latest brand Norty. Elspeth is now a published Author, Recipe Creator and Menu Consultant.
